Server Rules

1. Verbal abuse of players and staff will not be tolerated. Players who are abusive or disrespectful to staff in game will be jailed. Repeated offenses will result in permanent banishment from the shard or one or more accounts, or an entire IP address. Verbal abuse of players is also a serious matter, and repeated verbal abuse of players may result in jail time. If a player verbally abuses you, leave the area! Do not page a GM unless a player follows you and repeatedly abuses you after you have attempted to leave the area and asked them to stop.

2. Intentional exploitation of "bugs" will not be tolerated. A "bug" is defined as any in game action which gives a result which was not intended by the shard developers. If you encounter a bug report it to a Divinity Admin. Anyone caught intentionally exploiting bugs will be jailed and reviewed by the shard administrators for possible banishment. The definition of a "bug" is very broad, so when in doubt, ASK before you do it!

3. Use of unapproved Third Party programs will not be tolerated. Anyone found to be using an unapproved program will face punishment (depending on the severity of the infraction) including (but not limited to) the following: deletion of resources, reduction of character skills/stats, jailing, banishment of one or more accounts.
Approved Third Party Programs: Razor, UOGateway, UOAutoMap
Unapproved programs: Any program not listed above (including EasyUO and KUOC/PlayUO)

Note: Just because a program is approved does not mean anything that program can do is legal. For example, you may be able to "script" certain actions with Razor. If those actions violate these rules, even though you used a third party program, it is illegal and you will be punished for doing so.

4. Unattended Resource Gathering will not be tolerated. Anyone found to be gathering resources (fish, t-maps, logs, ore, any type of cloth (including wool)) while "AFK" will be jailed and have all resources suspected of being gather while AFK deleted. This deletion is NOT subject to appeal. Repeat offenders may be jailed for longer, have their skills reset, or have one or more of their accounts banished from the server.

5. Obey all staff instructions at all times. All staff, even counselors, should be obeyed when they give you direction in game. Failure to heed staff warnings on your actions will result in punishment possibly including squelching, jailing, or banishment.

6. Abuse of the in-game help system will not be tolerated. Players who abuse the in-game help system with pages which are not related to in-game problems may loose their ability to page for help. Repeated abuse may result in jail time or banishment.

7. Automation of Player vs. Player combat is illegal. This means you may not make "turrets" which automate attacking players. It does not matter that this is relatively simple to do, it is lame and it is not allowed. Persons found with "bots" of this and other types will be punished. This, of course, includes "sync scripts".

Initial punishments are up to the staff member on duty at the time of the problem. If you feel you have not broken a rule or have been unfairly punished do NOT say anything to the staff member handling your situation. Accept the punishment you have been given and contact Ryan, MasterM, Lord Blackthorn or Xavier_WER through IRC or the forums about the matter. Objecting to the staff member on duty will get you nowhere, and may hurt your case when you contact an administrator for an appeal. Do NOT start public threads about the situation on the forums or discuss the situation in public areas on the shard. Any public discussion of the situation will cause the staff to ignore any attempts at private communication and may result in disciplinary action in the public place (banishment from IRC or the forums, jailing of addition characters on the shard, etc).
